Thomas J. Erker is a founding
member of the National
College for DUI Defense which holds its annual seminars
at Harvard Law School each summer. Mr. Erker, Jay Norton,
and J. Ryan Hare are all members of the National College for
DUI Defense. All of our lawyers work in the state of Kansas.
Additionally, Mr. Hare is a licensed attorney in the state
of Missouri.

Thomas
J. Erker is a trial attorney who has been fighting for his client's rights in Kansas courts since 1981 and represents clients in the areas of criminal defense, driving under the influence, domestic relations and personal injury.
Mr. Erker has handled in excess of twenty homicide cases and consistently defends clients charged with high level felonies. He is experienced in dealing with the media and has represented numerous high profile clients. Mr. Erker has been trying jury trials since 1981 and has a reputation for tenaciously fighting for his client's rights. |

Mr. Erker understands how serious DUI cases are due to the harsh consequences these cases pose to his clients. He represents clients charged with DUI offenses as tenaciously as those charged with homicide. Mr. Erker regularly defends people charged with vehicular homicides involving alcohol and travels to seminars throughout the country to study new and innovative defenses. He also lectures on the topics of criminal law and driving under the influence.
Mr. Erker's aggressive litigation style serves his clients well in tough domestic relations cases. He regularly represents clients in custody battles and divorce cases involving large assets and spousal maintenance issues. Mr. Erker's domestic relations clients run the gamut from average working people to high-powered business persons and professional athletes. For the past two decades Mr. Erker has obtained very significant financial awards for his clients who have been injured as a result of medical malpractice and the intentional or negligent acts of people and corporations. Mr. Erker regularly represents people injured in auto collisions and fights insurance companies for the compensation his clients' deserve.
Mr. Erker, a native of Long Island, New York, is a graduate of Washburn University School of Law. He served as an Assistant District Attorney from 1982-1985 and an Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Overland Park in 1985. He served as president of the Johnson County Bar Association from 1992-93. Mr. Erker is a member of the Kansas and Johnson County Bar Association, a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, a life member of the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and is a Founding Member of the National College for DUI Defense. He is a fellow of the Johnson County Bar Foundation.

Jay Norton
is an aggressive lawyer practicing primarily in the
areas of Kansas DUI, criminal defense, personal injury
and domestic relations. He is a graduate of the University
of Kansas School of Law and he is a Johnson County native.
Mr. Norton handles
all manners of criminal cases from speeding tickets
to major felonies and homicides in the municipal, district
and federal courts of eastern Kansas. He has developed
a strong reputation for obtaining dismissals, acquittals
and other favorable dispositions for his clients over
the last decade. |

Mr. Norton emphasizes a
thorough discovery and pretrial motions practice in DUI and
criminal cases to maximize the potential benefits to those
he represents. He also handles personal injury, wrongful death
and medical malpractice claims in Kansas and has obtained
substantial compensation for his client's injuries and the
loss of loved ones. His zealous attitude and attention to
detail translate well in the family law arena where he actively
litigates divorce, child custody, maintenance (alimony) and
paternity cases for his clients.
Mr. Norton is a member of

Bar Association. At age 27 he was named one of the 29 most

Ryan Hare is
a trial lawyer who tenaciously represents clients in
the areas of criminal defense, DUI, personal injury
and domestic relations.
Mr. Hare represents
persons charged with high level felonies, driving under
the influence and traffic offenses. Mr. Hare consistently
defends adults and juveniles charged with serious offenses
that could destroy their lives. Mr. Hare is dedicated

Lindsay Hare
joins Erker, Norton, & Hare, LLC, as an associate
attorney practicing in the areas of domestic relations,
criminal defense, personal injury and general litigation.
While in law school, Ms. Hare impressed the firm with
her dedication and work ethic as a legal intern and
was recruited to join our team of lawyers immediately
upon obtaining her license. As an attorney, she integrates
her strong research and writing skills into her litigation
style to deliver a comprehensive and thorough package
in the courtroom. Ms. Hare possesses the skills and
